Books Before the Burden Begins
Helping children learn before life forces them to leave school.
In low-income and disabled households, childhood often ends before it even begins. While other children wake up and prepare for school, thousands are forced to stay back — either to care for siblings, help with work, or simply because their families cannot afford notebooks and uniforms. For physically disabled children, the barriers are even worse: stairs they cannot climb, transport they cannot afford, teachers who do not understand them.
Books Before the Burden Begins is Barwa Foundation’s dedicated campaign to prevent dropouts before they happen. By providing complete school kits, nutritional backup, travel support, and inclusive learning tools, we ensure every child gets a chance to hold a book before they are handed responsibilities too heavy to carry.

Children shouldn’t have to use torn books or worn-out bags. We provide high-quality notebooks, uniforms, pens, and schoolbags so they can walk into classrooms with pride, not shame.
Transport That Makes School Possible
Many children, especially those with mobility challenges, miss school simply because they cannot get there. We offer travel support — from auto fare to caregiver assistance — so no one is left behind.
Learning Tools for Every Need
Disability shouldn’t mean exclusion. We provide adapted slates, grips, special seating aids, and assistive learning kits for children with physical limitations, ensuring every child can participate.
