Barwa Foundation

For Every Child Who’s Been Left Behind

We stand beside those who can’t stand alone through mobility, food, education, and care.

2000+Children with Disability Supported

Barwa Foundation supports children and families pushed to the edge by poverty, disability, and lack of access. From mobility aids for physically disabled children to school kits, food drives, and health checkups we focus on what’s urgent, practical, and ignored. We don’t wait for systems to fix it. We step in and do what’s needed today.

India’s Gender Divide

More Than a Statistic

Despite national policies, the gap persists across four key areas:

  • Economic Participation:
Only 25% of Indian women are part of the formal labour force. Income parity has improved slightly (from 28.9% to 29.9%), but women still earn far less for equal work, and leadership roles remain male-dominated.

  • Education and Literacy:
Though school enrollment is improving, the literacy gap remains 20%, and girls face higher dropout rates due to early marriage, safety concerns, and cultural pressures.

  • Health & Nutrition:
Over 53% of women aged 15–49 suffer from anemia. Malnutrition, stunting, and poor maternal health continue to weaken generations of women and girls.

  • Political Representation:
Just 13.8% of Parliament seats are held by women, down from the previous term. Decision-making power remains symbolic in many rural areas due to practices like “Sarpanch-Pati.”

What’s Holding Us Back?

The roots of this crisis run deep:

  • Patriarchal structures and male control over family decisions

  • Cultural son-preference leading to skewed birth ratios

  • Economic dependency and lack of property rights

  • Gaps in law enforcement and protection mechanisms

  • Weak implementation of well-intended schemes

What Needs to Change

Barwa Foundation echoes the report’s call for urgent reform — but with action at the ground level:

  • Make education accessible & safe for every girl

  • Support working women with real-world solutions like safe transport and childcare

  • Ensure access to healthcare with dignity, speed, and trust

  • Engage men and boys in gender equality conversations

  • Transform local governance to give women real power — not just reserved seats

We Serve Where It’s Needed Most

Barwa Foundation focuses on what many overlook children with physical disabilities, parents stretched beyond survival, and health needs that have gone unanswered for years. We provide mobility aids, daily meals, school support, and medical care where no one else has reached. Not with noise. But with consistency, care, and the kind of presence that changes things.

We provide wheelchairs, walkers, and therapy support so physically disabled children can move freely not just in body, but in confidence.

Our food support ensures no child has to choose between hunger and healing. Every meal delivered is one less worry for a struggling family.

People who chose to trust and saw the difference

Behind every wheelchair, school kit, or meal we deliver, there’s someone like you someone who cared enough to give. These are the voices of those who didn’t just donate, but connected. Their words reflect what makes Barwa Foundation different: honest work, visible impact, and a deep human connection that stays long after the receipt is sent.

Each testimonial is a reminder that giving isn’t about how much — it’s about how truly. These aren’t scripted words. They come from people who saw where their support went, who felt the weight of a child’s struggle lifted just a little because they chose to act. At Barwa Foundation, we don’t just collect donations — we build trust, one conversation, one act of service, one shared moment of belief at a time.

When you read these stories, you’re not just hearing about us — you’re hearing from the very people who made this work possible. Some gave ₹500, some gave more. But what they all gave — was belief. In a world where so much feels uncertain, this belief keeps our work steady. It reminds us that real change doesn’t start with an organisation. It starts with someone who says: I care.

Satisfied Donors

“I’ve donated to NGOs before, but Barwa Foundation truly surprised me. Within days of my contribution, I received a clear receipt and photos from the health camp they conducted.

When I first read about their education campaign, I thought let me just try once. I donated a small amount for a school kit. But the way they documented and acknowledged that support amazed me.

I supported Barwa Foundation’s mobility program because I saw how much my own cousin struggled with polio growing up. Donating to help a child get a walker felt deeply personal.

                  Because Hunger Doesn’t Wait

In the homes we visit, hunger is not an exception — it’s a pattern. Children go to sleep without dinner. Mothers skip meals to make food last longer. And for those living with disabilities, poor nutrition makes recovery even harder. At Barwa Foundation, we provide daily meals and food kits that are practical, nourishing, and delivered with dignity. Because a child can’t focus, heal, or learn if their stomach is empty — and hunger should never become a habit.

Support where it’s needed. Care that continues.

Barwa Foundation focuses on four deeply urgent areas: mobility, education, health, and food. These aren’t broad ideas — they’re real problems we encounter every day. A child without a walker. A school dropout because of hunger. A treatable illness left ignored. We don’t wait for permission to help — we start where others stop. Every cause we work on is tied to a real need, a real family, and a real change we can make together.

                  Books Before the Burden Begins

We help children stay in school by providing learning kits, transport, and meals — before life’s hardships force them to drop out.

                  Their Legs, Our Promise

We provide walkers, wheelchairs, and therapy support to physically disabled children — so they can stand, move, and live with dignity.

                  Care That Reaches in Time

For families already struggling with disability and poverty, illness often becomes the last straw. A simple fever is left untreated. A wound turns into something far worse. Not because they don’t care but because they can’t afford to. At Barwa Foundation, we bring timely medical care through free check-ups, emergency medicine support, and referrals. Because the cost of waiting is too high when even small health issues are ignored for too long.

What You Might Want to Know

We know your support comes with questions and it should. From donation tracking to how our services work on the ground, here are answers to what we’re most often asked. If you need more clarity, we’re always just a message away.

Small actions. Real change. Start where you are.

You don’t need a big foundation to create impact. You just need the will to act. Whether you choose to donate once, contribute monthly, volunteer, or simply share our work — it matters. Every meal served, every school kit packed, every walker delivered is possible because someone like you decided not to look away. At Barwa Foundation, we don’t ask for charity. We ask for presence — your presence in the lives of those who’ve waited long enough.

                  Stories, That Stay With You

Every meal served, every wheelchair delivered, every school kit packed — there’s a story behind it. Our blog shares these moments from the field, not to impress, but to reflect the real journey: the struggles, the small victories, the faces behind the impact. These aren’t reports. They’re reminders of why this work matters, and how much more there is to do.

Go beyond numbers and see the real faces behind our work — children finding mobility, mothers finding hope, and families holding on with dignity. These stories reflect why we do what we do. In every corner of this country, there’s a child who needs a walker.
